Forgotten work

The top image was my entry to last years Penguin Book Cover competition. The task was to create a cover for the classic noir mystery, The Big Sleep.
I had completely forgotten about it, when I found it yesterday while cleaning out my desktop.
I tried to avoid the classic black, white (and red) colour scheme and instead I was inspired by 20ies home decor palettes and art deco patterns.

Ukrainian dancing

A few recent poster-sized illustrations, based on a chance encounter with a folklore festival in my local area. I was particularly inspired by the show from the Ukraine; the dancing was beautiful and so were the colours and patterns on their costumes.

This is the longest, the most ambitious and the hardest project I have ever done. And I am equally proud of it.

Overdue update

The final images for the IT guidebook project for Væksthus Midtjylland!
I am really chuffed about the final outcome. It was a really challenging subject matter, and a great task to find a consistent visual language with such a diverse and unusual subject matter.

I have been AWOL for the past six months or so; in that time, I have been doing my MA project at Kolding School of Design - it has been super hard work, but a great experience.
More on that in a future post!

COMMISSION WORK

Above are a few sketches from a 25-image commission I am currently working on. It's all a bit hush-hush for now, but it's safe to say, the subject is quite challenging and new to me, so it has been really exciting to work with so far.
I am so excited to see how it will turn out in the end. Stay tuned for more!
